Re:fugee:ca x (ILL)LEGAL ist ein Kulturfestival mit und für Migranten und Menschen auf der Flucht. Sie und die helfenden Organisationen sollen unterstützt werden. Wir bekommen so die Möglichkeit, die einzigartigen und wertvollen Fähigkeiten unserer neuen Berliner Nachbarn kennenzulernen. Im Gegenzug erhalten sie eine Plattform, auf der sie mit eigener Stimme sprechen und ihr künstlerisches Potential zum Ausdruck bringen können. Das Festival ist gedacht als Solidaritätsbekundung und Fundraiser. Der Erlös geht an Flüchtlingsorganisationen sowie an die Teilnehmer selbst.
Von 10-18 Uhr bietet der Re:Fugee:ca Bazaar Flüchtlingen und Initiativen Raum zur Selbstdarstellung. Alles ist denkbar, von Haareflechten über Essenszubereitung und spielen bis hin zur Rechtsberatung. Zu unserem Basar gehört ein Flohmarkt im ganzen Saal mit verschiedensten Angeboten sowie ein Bühnenprogramm. Möglich sind kurze Performances, Filmvorführungen oder auch Lesungen. Die Basaratmosphäre lädt ein zum entspannten Genuss verschiedenster kultureller Ausdrucksformen.
Um 19 Uhr öffnen wir unsere Bühne für das (ILL)LEGAL „Refugee Cabaret”. Profi- und Amateurkünstler treten auf im Rahmen eines Cabarets. Musiker, Tänzer, Rapper – jeder ist willkommen! Ebenfalls auf dem Programm stehen kurze Aufführungen bereits etablierterer Künstler und Gruppen aus Tanz, Theater und Musik, u.a. die Lis:sanga Dance Company und Explority e.V.

Re:fugee:ca x (ILL)LEGAL is a migrant and refugee culture festival. Its main goal is to support our refugee and migrant neighbours and the organisations which help them (such as Refugees Work and Refugee Radio Network and more) through an event in which we can experience the unique and worthwhile talents and abilities these new Berliners bring with them to our city, at the same time giving them a platform to express themselves in their own voice with their own artistic output. Thought of as a fundraiser and solidarity event, profits will be donated to refugee organisations and directly to refugee participants themselves.
From 10:00 to 18:00 The Re:Fugee:ca Bazaar of Styles and Skills provides space for refugees and initiatives to present themselves. Everything is welcome, from braiding hair to preparing food, from games to legal advise. The Bazaar will take the form of an indoor flea market with tables of diverse offers as well as presentations on the stage, which can take the form of short performances, screenings or lectures. Guests can enjoy a variety of cultural expressions in a bazaar setting and directly support refugees and migrants by buying goods directly from them.
At 19:00 we will present the (ILL)LEGAL open stage “Refugee Cabaret”, with different performances from professional and non-professional artists in a cabaret format – musicians, dancers, rappers, everybody is welcome! More established groups and artists from the fields of dance, theater and music will also present short pieces in this evening program, for example Lis:sanga Dance Company and Explority e.V., and many more.
